I am Michael O’Rourke. I am a mindfulness facilitator and yoga instructor from the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa.
​
My passion is to share the wonderful benefits of mindfulness, yoga, breathwork and self-discovery practices.
​
I bring my mindfulness training, my yoga certification and counseling training into the safe space that I facilitate for my clients. Perhaps more importantly I bring my lived experience into this space, which includes:
Nearly 30 years of working in the corporate world where I held senior leadership roles and witnessed the behind the scenes dynamics such as significant stress, toxic political cultures and a lack of work-life balance.
Overcoming substance abuse struggles and finding inner resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle
Parenting children with anxiety.
Learning from two failed marriages.
Pursuing an in-depth self-discovery and self-healing journey which resulted in a renewed sense of purpose and joy.
My offerings are all about helping others find joy and peace through self-discovery, self-healing and balance in their lives. This could be as simple and as pure as a regular yoga classes or sharing 20 minutes together for some purposeful breathing or we could embark on my 10 week Journey to Joy programme together. All of these engagements can be facilitated in-person or virtually and can be one-on-one, in small groups or even for an entire organisation.
